Subway Surfers – Can you run forever?

It is an endless runner mobile game which was developed by Kiloo Games. It was released in 2012 and it is updated almost every month now. In 2018, it became the first mobile game to reach 1 billion downloads. In December 2019, it crossed the 2.7 billion mark.

In Subway Surfers, you start by tapping on the screen and start running. You swipe up, left, right or down to avoid crashing into any obstacles. Moving trains, poles, barriers… You pick up coins too. Once you have enough coins, you can upgrade your player and buy new skateboards or hoverboards for your player.

You can also buy power ups. There is one specific one that lets you head start into the game and it brings you a couple hundred meters forward.

Subway Surfers received decent reviews, the visual style and entertaining, almost unique gameplay was praised but the monotonous world and sometimes unresponsive controls were criticized. The game has also been nominated twice at the 2019 Webby Awards.
